The icomm team is made up of owners/ account managers and writers, all of whom are passionate about their work, and each has an eye for certain detail, ensuring that the end product is spot on.
Debbie began her career in the Human Resources industry after achieving her honours in Personnel Management. She then opened a promotions company, which was subsequently sold to a large food manufacturer within the retail industry. Following this, Debbie decided to focus on the PR industry as an account and events manager. Together with Nicola, she founded icomm and – as a highly organised person does – loves to make sure that our clients’ accounts are running like clockwork. She is a master at multitasking, and a great diplomat with a wicked sense of humour, which is a necessity in a deadline driven world.
Nicola worked as senior journalist and account manager for several leading PR consultancies, covering industries from pharmaceutical and engineering to technology prior to launching icomm more than eight years ago. She attained a BTech Public Relations degree and completed her training at Siemens Southern Africa. Nicola is a self-confessed technophile and can often be found looking for the latest and greatest gadgets around. Her team is always grateful for her astonishing knowledge of the English language, which is probably due to her great love of books and hence, bookshelves to house all these wonders.
With some 20 years communications experience, Vivienne has worked variously as a journalist (print, radio and television) as well as in corporate communications and public relations across the insurance, banking and investment sectors. Vivienne has a BA in English and Psychology, a BA (Hons) in Psychology and a Higher Diploma in Education (all through the University of the Witwatersrand). In her spare time she runs after her two children, writes works of fiction as well as her blog, reads when she can snatch a quiet moment, and tries to find time to cycle in the park.
Heike holds an honours degree in publishing from the University of Pretoria. She has worked for 17 years as a publications manager, editor, journalist and writer focusing on producing consumer and business publications, editorial, internal newsletters, media releases, speeches, websites and annual reports for corporate organisations, agencies and Section 21 companies operating within the ICT, financial services, government, engineering and motoring sectors. Heike firmly believes she has the best job ever and is as passionate about design as she is about words. She also loves the aroma of a freshly printed product – almost as much as her bitter and black, freshly brewed coffee.
